Our sustainable mission

Thalassains is committed to helping create a more sustainable future in the world. We will achieve that by using the power of business & collaborations to pave the path to that sustainable future. The founder was inspired to start this business after observing an overwhelming increase in plastic stuck in the world-class coral reefs of The Red Sea in 2020. After observing the negative impact of plastics on our corals, he realized that something has to be done to preserve the Red Sea. He hired a few friends and created a purpose-driven organization concerned with guarding the sea. Now, Thalassains manages one of the largest & most consistent beach cleanup operations in Egypt & recruits 100s of volunteers & staff. Our conservation efforts are focused on four key areas. 1. Education: We prioritize educating the local communities around the Red Sea through regular workshops, school sessions and art projects. 2. Innovation: We use a portion of the waste we collect from the Red Sea and upcycle it into stylish products sold to companies and individuals worldwide. 3. Advocate: Through our network, we are pressuring local governments to put policies in place that will reduce the negative impact of plastic on the environment. 4. Recovery: By doing regular beach cleanups, we are helping marine life flourish and inspiring behavioural change at the local level. Join the #CLEANREDSEAMVMT and help us preserve one of the last standing coral reefs in the world.

CLEANING THE RED SEA IS OUR BUSINESS Our entire business model is designed to fund the growth and scale of our cleanup operation. Our cleanups and campaigns counteract some of the impacts of plastic pollution, inspire behavioural change, incentivize environmental stewardship at a local level, and bring new opportunities for growth, equality, education, and prosperity to people living in coastal environments. HOW YOUR SUPPORT MAKES AN IMPACT ON OUR OPERATION. 1. FUNDS OUR CREW: Our outstanding project managers and volunteers work day and night to remove plastic waste from the Red Sea. 2. TRANSPORTS PEOPLE AND PLASTIC: We work with local drivers to bring all the plastic we collect to our storage in Dahab. SUPPORTS THE OPERATION: After the plastic ends up in our storage, it's weighed, sorted, and sent off to get recycled, so it never re-enters the environment. ENSURES LONGEVITY: We're constantly trying to find new ways to upcycle the plastic we collect, whether by making it into new products or art installations. With your continued support, we are always coming up with solutions to combat the Red Sea plastic crisis. DRIVE PROFITS WITH PURPOSE Customers worldwide are starting to favour businesses aligning themselves with our planet and Sustainable Development Goals. ALL HANDS ON DECK Time is running out. Action for our planet is needed NOW. IT'S UP TO US TO PRESS ON THE BRAKES Use your business as a force of good by contributing to plastic recovery projects in one of the last standing coral reefs in the world: The Red Sea Coral Reef. JOIN US IN THE FIGHT AGAINST OCEAN PLASTIC Our solutions empower businesses or organizations to take action, create impact and rise to the forefront of the fight against ocean plastic.

What is a Plastic Credit (PC)?

The Plastic Credit (PC) is an NFT. The PC is rooted in real recovery data and is accessible for anyone to view. The information is stored on the blockchain for transparency, and traceability and is represented as a digital certificate.

A PC is proof that plastic was recovered and recycled.

You will receive the PC when you support the recovery of plastic. The images shown are from the flora & fauna from the location where the plastic is recovered.
